1909 T204 Ramly Tobacco SGC-Graded Collection (10)
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $3,525
Collection of ten T204 Ramly tobacco cards, highlighted by Hall of Famers Jesse Burkett and Clark Griffith, all graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA). Seven cards are graded VG/EX 50, one is graded VG 40, one is graded GOOD 30, and one is graded FAIR 20. These cards were among the many highlights of an original-owner collection of forty-nine T204 Ramlys, four T208 Firesides, fifty T206s, and sixty T205s that have never before been seen in the organized collecting world, and which are presented in sixteen lots in this auction. Ramlys are among the rarest and most desirable of all tobacco issues. With their distinctive gold-embossed borders and regal design, they are also widely regarded as one of the most beautiful of all baseball-card issues. The collection consists of the following: WM. Bransfield (VG/EX 50), Jesse Burkett (HOF, FAIR 20; solid Ex card downgraded due to a stain in the upper left corner), Jiggs Donahue (VG/EX 50), Wild Bill Donovan (VG/EX 50), Bob Ewing (VG/EX 50), Clark Griffith (HOF, GOOD 30; Vg-Ex card downgraded for stain on the tip of the upper right corner), Harry Howell (VG/EX 50), Mike Kahoe (VG/EX 50), P.J. Moran (VG/EX 50), and Dode Paskert (VG 40). This is a beautiful, crisp, clean collection of these rare and classic cards. The equivalent SMR value for the ten SGC-graded cards is $3,235. Total: 10 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $3,525
