1910 Morton's Pennant Winner Bread Tigers Pins Near-Complete Set Including Cobb (11/16)

Collection of eleven different 1910 Morton's Pennant Winner Bread Tigers Pins, in mixed grade, with Ty Cobb among the very best in terms of condition; missing only five pins for completion (Archer, Jones, Schaefer, Schmidt, and Summers). The collection consists of the following: Bush, Cobb (Vg-Ex, "Cobb" is written on backpaper on reverse), Crawford, Donovan (missing pin), Jennings, McIntyre, Moriarity, Mullin, Rossman, Willett, and one unidentified Tiger. Ten have the original advertising back papers (six have the player's name printed in ink on the backpaper). There are sixteen pins in the set, each featuring a portrait of a member of the 1909 Detroit Tigers. This colorful set has always been appreciated both for its rarity and its striking design, which features the same players' portraits which are used on the Morton's Buster Brown Bread series. Morton's Buster Brown and Pennant Winner bread pins have long been recognized as two of the rarest and most desirable advertising pin sets of the era.
