Michael Jordan Signed Golf Card and 1986 Golf Program (with 60 signatures including Joe D)
Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $470
Like many professional athletes, Michael Jordan was drawn to the game of golf early in his career and it has remained one of his favorite pastimes. Unlike most professional athletes, however, Jordan is a scratch golfer and probably could have played on the PGA Tour if he had devoted his life to it instead of to basketball. Offered here are two Michael Jordan signed pieces relating to his second-favorite sport: 1) Golf scorecard from the Wynstone Golf Club in North Barrington, Illinois. Jordan has signed the fold-over scorecard in pencil (grading "9") on the interior as the scorer for the foursome. For the record, Jordan shot an 80, which was six over par. That score lost him the match, and knowing his penchant for wagering, it probably cost him some money as well. The scorecard (7 x 5 inches, unfolded) displays moderate creasing and is in Very Good to Excellent condition. 2) Official program for The Crosby Golf Tournament held in 1986 at the Bermuda Run Country Club in North Carolina. The forty-page program has been signed on the interior, in a variety of inks, by sixty-one celebrity participants in the tournament, including Michael Jordan (grading "10"), Joe DiMaggio ("7"), Willie McCovey, Ernie Banks, Mike Ditka, Ron Jaworski, Kyle Rote, Darryl Rogers, McLean Stevenson, Kevin Dobson, Doug Moe, Dean Smith, Marty Schottenheimer, Kim Zimmer, Mike Haynes, Kiel Martin, Tony Dow, Hal Linden, Fred Decordova, and Dennis Franz. Signatures range from "7" to "10," averaging "9." The program (8.5 x 11 inches) is in Excellent condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Total: 2 items (scorecard and program). Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $470
