Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $705
Personal check, dated April 7, 1989, signed in blue ink (grading "10") by Michael Jordan. The check, drawn on the Bank of Glenbrook in Glenview, Illinois, is made out to "Cellular One-Chicago" in the amount of $181.33. Jordan's name and address are printed on the check in the upper left corner. After paying some bills on Friday, April 7, 1989, Jordan headed to Chicago Stadium for a match up with the Detroit Pistons in what would be an early preview of the Eastern Conference Finals. Despite a forty-point effort by Jordan, the Bulls fell to the eventual NBA Champion Pistons 114-112 in overtime. This is both a scarce and exceptional Jordan personal check dating from his early professional career. The check (6 x 2.75 inches) displays normal cancellation stamps on the reverse and is in Near Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $705
