1909 "James J. Jeffries Championship Souvenir Playing Cards" Complete Set (54)

Issued in 1909 by the W. P. Jeffries Company of Los Angeles, California, the "James J. Jeffries Championship Souvenir Playing Cards" set features fifty-four cards with extremely striking images of famous boxers (Sullivan, Johnson, Corbett, Attell, Jeffries, Sharkey, Fitzsimmons, etc.) and fight scenes. The backs feature an image of heavyweight champion James Jeffries dressed in street clothes. Offered is a complete 53-card set in virtually perfect condition, Nr/Mt or better overall. The set is accompanied by the original box (Gd) and the "Title" card (Nr/Mt). All the cards are bright, crisp, and clean, having been beautifully preserved in their original box over the years. In any condition, this set represents one of the most extraordinary values in vintage boxing-card collecting. This is an extraordinary high-grade set of one of the most substantial and well-produced of all early boxing-card issues. Total 55 items (complete set of 53 cards, original box, and "title" card).
