1950s Exhibit Supply Company W424 Pinup Cards Uncut Sheets (2)
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $705
Presented are two different uncut sheets of Exhibit Supply Company pinup cards dating from the early 1950s. One sheet features thirty-two different arcade cards of the 1950 W424-1A "Calendar Girls" series (3.5 x 5.5 inches) and the other sheet has sixty-four different images of cards from the 1952-1954 W424-1C "Slick Chick Twins" set (2.5 x 3.5 inches). The sheets are printed on very thin paper stock. When issued, the arcade cards were mounted onto heavy stock, cut into individual cards, and distributed in "Exhibit card style" penny arcade machines, primarily at amusement parks. All things considered, it is a little surprising that Exhibit Supply Company pinup cards were marketed to children at all, as many of the images and jokes were (for the times) very risqué. But they did sell very well. These sheets are very colorful and striking. Ideal for framing and display. A few light creases near the edges, otherwise Near Mint condition. Total 2 sheets. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $705
