1910 E93 Standard Caramel SGC-Graded Collection (7)
Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $4,700
Collection of seven E93 Standard Caramel cards (five from the famous Nagy Collection) including three Hall of Famers, each graded and encapsulated by SGC: Chase (Nagy Collection, VG/EX 50), Clarke (HOF, Nagy Collection, EX 60), Collins (HOF, EX+ 70), Delehanty (Nagy Collection, EX/NM 80), Dooin (EX 60), Phillippi (Nagy Collection, EX/NM 80), and Plank (HOF, Nagy Collection, EX+ 70). This 30-card set was issued in 1910 by the Standard Caramel Co. of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This set is closely related to several other candy sets from the era which share the same format and, in many cases, the same player image. Caramel cards are far rarer than most tobacco cards from the same era. This group represents an outstanding selection of early caramel cards, including three Hall of Famers, and a very substantial start to collecting one of the era's most popular sets. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grades is $6,365. Total: 7 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000+. SOLD FOR $4,700
