Two N173 Goodwin Old Judge cabinet cards. An attractive low-grade pair of these extremely substantial nineteenth-century rarities: 1) "Marty" Sullivan, Chicago (#444-5 pose). 1887 copyright. This card has scattered foxing and moisture stains, and has a couple red ink marks on the bottom. There is also soiling and some scrapbook paper in the lower left corner on the reverse. Fair condition. 2) Ned Williamson, Chicago (#502-2 pose). 1887 copyright. Similar foxing and moisture stains, and also with a few small red ink marks (primarily along left border). Legendary Hall of Famer Cap Anson referred to Chicago infielder Ned Williamson as “the greatest all-around ballplayer the country ever saw.” Old Judge cabinet cards have always been revered by collectors as among the most desirable of all pre-1900 issues.
