1910 E93 Standard Caramel John McGraw - SGC EX/NM 80

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $940

Graded EX/NM 80 by SGC. One of only two examples graded at this level by SGC, with just one graded higher. Extremely high grade example of Hall of Famer John McGraw in a catching pose from the E93 caramel series. Bright and clean, both front and back, with only the slightest hint of wear to the corners, and the slightest hint of a light stain, very small and of little or no consequence, at the extreme right edge of the reverse (mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy). Centered to the left (approximately 30/70 L/R). The reverse has a boldly printed checklist for the set. McGraw, who was a star player in the 1890s with the legendary Baltimore Orioles, is considered one of the greatest managers in baseball history. Nicknamed the "Little Napoleon," McGraw led the Giants to ten pennants and three World Championships during his thirty-one-year tenure with the club. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1937. Exceptional ultra high-grade example of one of McGraw's most striking and popular cards. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grade is $1,100. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $940
