1909-1911 T206 White Border SGC Authentic Collection (32)

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $1,998

Thirty-two different (except one duplicate) T206 White Borders, each encapsulated as "Authentic" but rejected for numerical grading by SGC due to trimming (all submitted by REA). Included are Hall of Famer Johnny Evers and one southern leaguer (each with an appearance of Nr/Mt or better). Each card in this collection has an appearance ranging from Excellent to Nr/Mt-Mt, most Nr/Mt or better, but each card has at one time been very slightly trimmed. The trimming is very subtle, and is impossible to detect without a trained eye. While these cards will never be graded by PSA or SGC, they do represent an extraordinary value for the collector who wants beautiful original examples of these classics, at a far more affordable level than graded examples with a similar appearance. All the cards in this collection have Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertisements on the back unless otherwise noted. Consists of the following: Ames - port., Brashear, Butler, Camnitz - hands above head (Sovereign back), Chappelle, Charles, Donohue, Doolan - fielding, Dorner, Downey - fielding, Dygert, Egan (Sovereign back), Evers - port. (HOF), Fiene - port., Kleinow - bat, NY, Malarkey, Maloney, two Mullin - bat (one with Polar Bear back), Myers - fielding, Overall -port., Powers, Ritchey, Schaeffer - Det., Schirm, Schlafly, Schmidt - port. (Sovereign back), Sheckard - glove, Smith - Atlanta (southern leaguer, Old Mill back), Steinfeldt - port., Strang, and Titus (Old Mill back). Total: 32 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $1,998
