1909-1911 T206 Frank Smith - Chicago Boston - PSA EX-MT 6

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,410

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Smith, Chicago & Boston Amer. team variation. Of the 168 Chicago & Boston Smiths listed in the PSA population report to date, only eight have received an EX-MT 6 designation, and only four examples of this significant T206 rarity have ever graded higher. Since the days of Jefferson Burdick and before, this team-designation variation has always been recognized as one of the rarities of the T206 set. The offered card is extremely bright and crisp, and presents a strong and impressive image of Smith. This card has sharp corners, bold colors, and is centered slightly toward the top right (approximately 60/40 L/R and 40/60 T/B). The back is also bright and clean, with advertising for Polar Bear Cigarettes. There are a few light tobacco stains on the top border (which is not uncommon when dealing with T206 Polar Bear back cards). This is an attractive card and one that, due to its high PSA grade, is of special value to most PSA Registry sets. SMR value for the assigned grade is $850. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
