1909-1911 T206 Ray Demmitt - St. Louis Americans Variation
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,645
Graded VG 3 by PSA. Extremely pleasing example of the rare Demmitt, St. Louis Americans T206 variation. Polar Bear was the only company to issue this T206 variation. The packaged cards issued with Polar Bear tobacco were not well protected from the accompanying product; thus almost all Demmitts have various condition problems including at least some tobacco staining. This example has light staining (although far less than most T206 Polar Bear cards), corner wear, a crease in the lower right, and a streak of background lightening in the upper left. Bright and crisp, with almost perfect centering, and extremely fresh colors. This is a very attractive medium-grade example of one of the rarest cards in the classic T206 White Border set. SMR value is $2,850. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,645
