1902-1911 W600 Sporting Life Cabinet William Coughlin - SGC EX/NM 80

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,175

Graded EX/NM 80 by SGC. 1904 Detroit variation. Magnificent high-grade example of William Coughlin from the W600 Sporting Life cabinet-card set. W600s are one of the rarest sets from the early part of the century, and are one of the most substantial and well-made card sets ever produced. With good reason, they have always been highly prized by serious collectors. Bright, crisp, and perfectly clean, front and back, with square corners, flawless surface, and a bold image. The reverse is perfectly clean with only light wear showing on three of the four corners (mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy). This is a very striking high-grade example from one of the most important of all twentieth-century sets, which would be a significant addition to any serious sample or prewar card collection. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,175
