1917 Zeenut PCL Frank Chance - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,763

Graded EX 60 by SGC. Highest-graded example by SGC (with none graded by PSA)! This extremely rare 1917 Zeenut card features Hall of Famer Frank Chance at the age of 40 playing for the Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League. This is one of only two cards of Frank Chance issued during his playing days in the PCL (the other is the 1916 Zeenut, which is also offered in this auction). Chance appeared in just three games for Los Angeles in 1917, batting just two times and getting one hit. This exceptional example of Frank Chance is in Excellent condition. The image area is flawless. Perfectly bright and clean, both front and back, with just a hint wear on the corners. Very conservatively graded EX by SGC, this card has a strong Excellent to Mint appearance. Zeenuts rarely survive in this high grade, let alone examples of the key stars of the set such as Frank Chance. This is a gorgeous 1917 Zeenut Chance example that would be a highlight in any high-grade Zeenut, Hall of Fame, or classic vintage-card collection. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,763
