1933 R338 Sport Kings #2 Babe Ruth

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,293

Graded VG 40 by SGC. Attractive mid-grade example of one of Babe Ruth's most classic cards, #2 Ruth from the 1933 R338 Sport Kings series. Bright and clean, both front and back, very well centered, and with just a few very small surface scratches (one above his right shoulder, and a couple in the lower left portion of the card), and with even wear to the corners. Sometimes attractive examples of great classics don't have to break the bank! This card is in an extremely desirable condition, at a glance appearing stronger than its technically accurate Vg grade, and sharing most important elements in common with examples of a much higher grade. This is an exceptional high-quality card that is ideal for the collector who wants a beautiful 1933 Sport Kings #2 Ruth card, but is not interested in spending the many thousands (or even tens of thousands) of dollars an example in a significantly higher grade would require. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grade is $1,150. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,293
