1908 PC760 T. R. Rose Postcard Collection (16)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $4,113

Very attractive and substantial collection of sixteen cards from the PC760 T. R. Rose Postcard set. Among advanced collectors Rose Postcards are regarded as one of the most striking and magnificently designed baseball-card sets ever produced. This is a large group for this extremely rare issue. The collection is comprised of the following: Beaumont (Fr), Clymer (Vg-Ex), Coombs (Fr), Delehanty (Wash., Gd), Freeman (Fr), Ganley (Vg-Ex), Lindamann (Vg-Ex), McBride (Gd), Milan (Vg), Patten (Vg), Shipke (Fr), Smith (Wash., Vg-Ex), Stone (Fr), Thoney (Gd), Warner (Vg-Ex), and Williams (Pr-Fr). Nine of the cards have never been mailed and have no writing on their traditional postcard reverses. The other seven have been mailed and/or have writing on the reverses. Technically in low-to-mid grade, most cards in the collection have a far better overall appearance than is suggested by the condition report. This is a very attractive group from this beautiful and rare set. Dimensions: 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Total: 16 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $4,113
