1951 and 1952 Berk Ross Joe DiMaggio (2)
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $940
Though he retired in 1951, Joe DiMaggio elected to not appear in the Bowman Gum cards or Topps sets issued during his final years. He did, however, allow for his inclusion in both the 1951 and 1952 Berk Ross sets, giving these cards all the greater significance as Joe D's final traditional trading cards. Presented are high-grade examples of Joe DiMaggio from both Berk Ross sets, each professionally graded and encapsulated: 1951 Berk Ross #2-5 is graded PSA NM-MT 8 (sharp and clean example with a flawless image and very well centered) and the 1952 Berk Ross is graded SGC NM 84 (bright and crisp, with bold colors and centered slightly to the bottom, a gorgeous card that, aside from centering, which is normal for this issue, is NM-MT). Two extremely crisp, sharp, high-grade examples of these classic Berk Ross cards featuring the "Yankee Clipper." The SMR values in the respective grades are $650 for the 1951 Berk Ross and $700 for the rarer 1952 Berk Ross for a total of $1,350. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $940
