1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle - PSA NM 7
Starting Bid - $10,000, Sold For - $32,313
Graded NM 7 by PSA. Extremely attractive, crisp, clean, high-grade example of 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. This is an outstanding ultra high grade example of one of card collecting's greatest classics. This card has brilliant colors and a flawless bold blue background. The corners are strong and sharp, each with only the slightest touch of wear (predominately the upper left). Beautifully centered approximately 60/40 left to right with an ever-so-slight tilt to the image that is typical of the card. The reverse is flawlessly clean and beautifully centered just slightly towards the bottom left. This is a great 1952 Topps Mantle! This 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle is a tremendous high-quality Near Mint example and presents a particularly interesting collecting opportunity. Collectors rarely have the opportunity to purchase a 1952 Topps Mantle of this quality, let alone without spending many times what this card lists for in this grade. A PSA NM-MT 8 lists for $75,000 and a PSA MINT 9 lists for $235,000 (and each has auction records that are considerably higher). One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. This is a spectacularly bright, fresh, clean example of Mickey Mantle's most celebrated card, in an extremely desirable and well-deserved high grade. This is a "blue chip" card that has consistently appreciated in value over time in all grades. The SMR value for a PSA NM 7 is $32,500. Reserve $10,000. Estimate $20,000++. SOLD FOR $32,313
