1954 Topps Complete Set (250)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,350

62% range from Vg-Ex to Ex-Mt (averaging Ex), 38% Vg (includes a few lesser). The 1954 Topps set has always been one of the most popular sets of the 1950s. Issued in the heart of the decade, the 1954 Topps set features the rookie cards of Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, and Al Kaline, among many other Hall of Famers and stars, including two examples of Ted Williams (first and last card in the set), all in brilliant and stunning color. Presented is a very attractive set with six autographed cards as noted. We have selected five cards to be graded by SGC. Keys: #1 Williams (VG 40), 3 Irvin (autographed in black ink, Vg-Ex), 10 Robinson (EX 60), 13 Martin (Ex-Mt), 17 Rizzuto (Ex), 20 Spahn (autographed in blue ink, Ex), 30 Mathews (autographed in blue ink, Vg-Ex), 32 Snider (autographed in blue ink, Ex), 36 Wilhelm (Ex), 37 Ford (Vg), 45 Ashburn (Ex), 50 Berra (Vg), 90 Mays (VG/EX 50), 94 Banks RC (EX 60), 128 Aaron (autographed in black ink, Ex), 132 Lasorda RC (Ex-Mt), 201 Kaline (autographed in blue ink, Vg), 239 Skowron RC (Ex), and 250 Williams (VG/EX 50). This is a very attractive and with few exceptions extremely consistent complete set of this early 1950s classic, with tremendous eye-appeal throughout. Technically the set falls into the "very strong medium" grade category. It would be hard to imagine a true collector looking at this set and thinking anything but "Wow!" Early sets in this grade are especially desirable, and are among the most outstanding and least volatile values in the world of vintage cards. Total: 250 cards. LOA from James Spence/JSA (for the six autographed cards). Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+. SOLD FOR $2,350
