1964 and 1965 Kahn's Wieners Complete Set Collection (2 Sets)
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,115
Collection of two extremely high grade complete sets issued by Kahn’s Wieners. These cards are part of an exceptional 1960s original-owner collection of cards that were saved in the year of issue and have not seen the light of day since the 1960s! When these sets arrived in our offices, sent in by the wife of the original owner, we were amazed by the condition. The sets were obviously obtained by mail directly from the company. All of the cards are bright, crisp, and incredibly fresh across the board. We have selected four cards to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. 1) 1964 Kahn’s Complete Set of 31: 70% range from Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt, 30% Ex-Mt. Keys: Clemente (SGC EX/NM 80), Mazeroski (Ex-Mt), Robinson (Ex-Mt), and Rose (SGC NM 84). 2) 1965 Kahn’s Complete Set of 45: 45% range from Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt, 45% Ex-Mt, 10% Ex. Keys: Aaron (SGC EX/NM 80), Mazeroski (Nr/Mt), Robinson (Ex-Mt), Rose (SGC EX/NM 80), and Stargell (Ex-Mt). This is a remarkably crisp ultra high-grade collection of these popular and attractive regional issues, with all of the key cards particularly strong. Kahn's Wieners cards are striking, colorful, unusual, and far rarer than most 1960s baseball cards. They are also one of the few food issues of the era. The equivalent SMR value of the four SGC-graded cards alone (not including the 72 ungraded cards) is $785. Total 76 cards representing two complete sets. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
