Circa 1950s Brooklyn Dodgers Pro-Model Cap
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $948
Vintage Brooklyn Dodgers pro-model cap dating from the "golden age" of franchise history. The blue wool cap features an embroidered white "B" on the front and a white button along the top. A "Rawlings" label appears along the back of the interior leather headband. The size, "7 1/2," is stamped in black on the side of the interior headband. The number "18" is written in blue ink on the underside of the brim. While we have no way of ascertaining whether or not this is a game-worn cap, we do know that only two players wore number "18" for the Dodgers during the 1950s: Wayne Belardi (1950 and 1951) and Jim Hughes (1953-1956). The hat remains in outstanding condition given its age, displaying light-to-moderate wear. Minor soiling and a few small tears are evident on the interior headband. In Excellent condition overall. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $948
