1984-1985 Wade Boggs Signed Pro-Model Bat

Wade Boggs Louisville Slugger signature-model "C235" bat dating from the 1984-1985 manufacturing period. Graded GU8 by PSA/DNA. The bat displays heavy use along its entire length, including ball marks (some with blue ink transfers) and stitch impressions on the front and right barrel, and a moderate coat of pine tar on handle and center brand. Boggs' uniform number ("26") is written in black marker on the knob. Boggs has signed the bat in black Sharpie (grading "9") on the "sweet spot" of the barrel. Although 1984 marked Boggs' third season in the major leagues, he was already considered one of the game's top hitters as evidenced by his final numbers: .a 325 batting average, 203 hits, .407 on base percentage, 6 home runs, and 55 RBI. In 1985 Boggs was even better, posting career- and league-high totals in both batting batting average (.368) and hits (240), as well as a league-high .450 on-base percentage, 8 home runs, and 78 RBI. One of the finest hitters of the modern era, Boggs retired in 1999 with 3,010 hits and a .325 lifetime average. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2005.
