1907 A. C. Dietsche Chicago Cubs Postcard Near-Complete Set (14 of 15)

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,304

Near-complete set of fourteen (out of 15) 1907 A. C. Dietsche Chicago Cubs Postcards. Missing only Frank Chance for completion. This series of Chicago Cubs players was issued by the same company that produced the Tigers postcard series. The Cubs postcards are much rarer than the Tigers series. Hall of Famers included in the near-set are Mordecai Brown, Johnny Evers, and Joe Tinker. Each postcard in this collection has pinholes at the top and the respective player is identified in pencil on the front. All have clean unused reverses. While technically in modest grade, this is still a very impressive group. The Dietsche Chicago Cubs postcard set is rarely seen (in our experience they are at least 25 times rarer than the Dietsche postcards featuring Detroit Tigers) and is one of the most distinctive baseball postcard sets of the era. Total: 14 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500++. SOLD FOR $1,304
