Babe Ruth Single-Signed Ball

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,541

Double-Header “Official League” ball signed by Babe Ruth in black fountain pen on a side panel. Ruth has personalized the ball to one of his fans, inscribing it “To my pal _____ (name illegible)/From/Babe Ruth.” Both the inscription and signature are light, but discernible, grading “2.” The ball displays a few areas of moderate toning, as well as a small number of light surface blemishes. In Very Good condition. Although this is admittedly a low-grade Ruth single, it would be a nice addition for those collectors on a modest budget who would like to own and display what is still one of the most sought-after relics in the hobby today. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,541
