1909-1911 T206 Bill O'Hara - St. Louis Americans Variation

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,896

Graded GOOD 30 by SGC. This is a very attractive technically low-grade example of the rare T206 O'Hara, St. Louis Americans variation. The modest grade is appropriate due to a single horizontal crease through the image, but all things considered, this may be the single most impressive example of this rare T206 graded GOOD 30 that we have ever seen. It is bright and crisp, with extremely fresh colors, practically no staining (just a few spots along the top border). The primary faults are even corner wear, and, as noted above, there is a single horizontal crease through the image. The packaged cards issued with Polar Bear tobacco were not well protected from the accompanying product; thus almost all O'Hara cards have at least some tobacco staining. This is an exceptionally attractive card, especially for the grade, of one of the rarest cards in the classic T206 White Border set. The equivalent SMR value is $1,900. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,896
