1933 R319 Goudey #211 Hack Wilson - PSA NM-MT 8
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,422
Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Extraordinary high-grade example of Hall of Famer Hack Wilson from the 1933 Goudey series. This 1933 Goudey #211 Hack Wilson has flawless colors and a very bold image, and is centered a hint towards the top right. The corners are sharp, showing just the slightest hint of wear under magnification. The card is perfectly clean both front and back. Of the 407 1933 Goudey #211 Hack Wilson cards graded to date in the entire history of PSA, only six examples have ever graded higher! (All PSA MINT 9; there are no PSA 10s.) In 1930, his finest season, Hack Wilson set two legendary marks. His 56 home runs were a National League record that stood until 1998, when Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa both shattered it. Nevertheless, the single-season record that still stands from that year was his RBI mark of 191. Though contenders for the record have come close, no player has gotten within 25 RBIs of the mark since 1938. This is an extremely high-grade example of one of Wilson's most desirable cards. SMR value for the assigned grade is $1,500. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
