1962 Topps #1 Roger Maris - PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,778

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Of the 1,685 examples graded to date by PSA, only five examples are graded higher. Ultra high-grade example of condition-sensitive card #1 Roger Maris from the popular 1962 Topps set. The card displays four razor-sharp corners, a crystal-clear image, and centering just slightly to the left. Issued in the year following the historic 1961 season (and of course listing "61" in the home-run column of the previous year's statistics), the 1962 Topps is naturally one of Roger Maris' most popular cards. It is also one of the great classics of all early 1960s bubble-gum cards. SMR value is $1,750. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,778
