Rare original near-complete box of 1969 Topps Baseball housing a total of seventeen 2nd Series unopened wax packs (out of the twenty-four packs that were originally in the box) with each pack containing five cards. The seventeen packs in the box represent a total of 85 cards. The 1969 Topps display box, featuring images of Hall of Famers Mays, Yastrzemski, and Gibson, and star pitcher Denny McLain (the ideal choice after his thirty-one wins the prior year) on the top lid, has always been one of the most visually exciting Topps counter-display box designs. The 1969 Topps 2nd Series (#110-218) includes Willie Mays, Pete Rose, Bob Gibson, Carl Yastrzemski, and many other star players. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to the grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this box are Gem Mint cards of these and other stars. The packs are in Excellent condition overall. The box has normal light shelf wear. This is a rarely seen original display box with seventeen unopened wax packs of this popular issue, looking exactly as it did when it sat on the candy-store shelf over forty years ago. Reserve $500.
