Extremely rare Jimi Hendrix concert poster with unusual dot-pattern graphics by artist Gary Grimshaw heralding the group's appearance at the IMA Auditorium in Flint, Michigan, on March 24, 1968. As noted on the poster, additional acts appearing on stage include Soft Machine and the Rationals. This classic Gary Grimshaw design was also used to produce a postcard and handbills (which have been reproduced). The poster is much rarer and the ideal. The poster (12 x 21.5 inches) has a horizontal center fold, tape remnants, and minor surface paper loss in each corner, and a few minor creases in the border areas, but, as can easily be seen, displays beautifully. The number "68" is written in pencil along the top border, and a red ink notation reading "All Grinells" (apparently indicating another location where tickets were sold) appears in the lower right. In Very Good condition overall with a much stronger appearance. Framed to total dimensions of 14 x 24 inches. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
