One-page handwritten note, undated, signed by Ty Cobb. Scripted on his personal letterhead, Cobb writes to a fan who had requested his autograph. In full: "Dear Marilyn Holt: I get many requests for autographs and sometime in accumulation of mail I answer but do not segregate, I have an idea I have answered you but to be sure am doing this. Sincerely, Ty Cobb." Both the text and signature have been flawlessly scripted in Cobb's customary green ink and grade "10." The note (3.5 x 5.5 inches; visible portion) displays a vertical fold and a few minor creases. In Excellent condition overall. Matted and framed together with a recent print of Cobb to total dimensions of 18.75 x 16 inches. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,185
