Timothy John Jordan's major league baseball career was brief, lasting only seven seasons, four of which were spent as the starting first baseman for the Brooklyn Robins between the years 1906 and 1909. Luckily for him, he was also an entrepreneur and was able to supplement his income through the sale of his own patented indoor baseball card game, produced by "The 'Tim' J. Jordan Playing Card Company." Offered here is an extraordinary example of that scarce game, complete in its original box. The paper overlay on the cover pictures Jordan in uniform and features the title of the game "T. J. Jordan In Door Card Game." The game is comprised of seventy-two playing cards (each card determines the result of the play), a small playing field, scorecard, twelve wooden discs (representing the players; six white and six red), and the rules. All of the interior game pieces are in Near Mint condition (obviously never played with). The box (6.25 x 2.75 x 1.5 inches) displays light handling wear, including a few minor abrasions to the paper overlay on the cover. Light pencil notations appear on the bottom of the box. In Excellent condition overall. Included with the game is an equally rare cabinet card (4.25 x 6.25 inches) of Jordan as a member of the Brooklyn Robins, a significant rarity in its own right and one that is ideal for display with the game. "Tim Jordan/Brooklyn/Nat. League" is written on the photo in black fountain pen (it is unknown if that is just an identifier or if it is scripted in Jordan's hand). Vg-Ex, with a tack hole at top. Total: 2 items (game and cabinet card). Reserve $100. Estimate $200+. SOLD FOR $1,778
