Rarely offered complete 32-card set of W469 "Sports Champions" Exhibits issued in 1948-1949. The set features champions and stars of the day from a wide variety of sports. This is one of the few vintage multisport card sets from the era, and also one of the rarest of all Exhibit card sets. Highlights include many of the greatest names in the history of sport. Condition is 22% Ex, 34% Vg-Ex, 28% Vg, and 16% lesser. Fourteen cards are graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: Baugh (marks on front, otherwise Vg), Doug & Max Bentley (Vg), Dempsey (VG/EX 50), Graham (EX 60), Henie (EX+ 70), Louis (EX 60), Luckman (Vg+), Lujack (Vg-Ex), Man 'O War (VG+ 45), Mikan (VG/EX+ 55), Turner (SGC VG 40), Van Buren (Gd+), and Young (Vg-Ex). Additional SGC graded cards: EX 60 (2 cards): Elliott and Jacobs. VG/EX 50 (3 cards): Cook, Durnan, and Harder. VG 40 (2 cards): Cobb (VG+ 45) and Curtis. This is a very attractive complete set of one of card collecting's most overlooked and substantial multisport issues. Total: 32 cards.
