Collection of 58 vintage comic books, spanning the years 1955-1964, all of which represent "special issues" published by Classics Illustrated. Thirty-six of the books (#1-36), are from The World Around Us series, which focus on a single subject, such as "The Illustrated Story of Dogs," or "The Illustrated Story of Pirates." Five books (#1-5) are from the The Best of Boy's Life Comics, which, as noted on each cover, was published in cooperation with the Boy Scouts of America. The remaining 17 books are all Special Issues published under the Classics Illustrated title including such books as Adventures in Science, Men, Guns and Cattle, War Between the States, and the rare United Nations. Also included in the collection are three later reprint issues published by Worldwide Classics Publications. All of the comics are well read and range from Fair to Fine (with a few slightly lesser), averaging Good to Very Good. A complete inventory list is available upon request via e-mail or fax.
