Graded GOOD 30 by SGC. Extremely pleasing example of the rare Demmitt, St. Louis Americans T206 variation. This card has the special distinction of originating from the collection of legendary collector Lionel Carter. Polar Bear was the only company to issue this T206 variation, thus no doubt contributing to its significant rarity. T206 cards issued with Polar Bear tobacco were not well protected from the accompanying product, thus almost all Demmitts have significant condition problems, including at least some tobacco staining. This example has a perfectly clean reverse with no staining, excellent centering, and fresh colors. Only a small crease in the upper left corner is responsible for the assigned grade. This is a very attractive example of one of the rarest and most condition-sensitive cards in the classic T206 White Border set.
