Graded NM/MT 8 by SGC. One of only four examples graded by SGC at this level with none higher! Exceptionally crisp, ultra-high-grade rookie card of Bobby Hull, arguably the greatest hockey player ever, from the 1958-1959 Topps hockey set. This issue in general is very condition sensitive, but the Hull rookie card, which is the final card in the set, is especially difficult to find in high grade. It is frequently plagued by print defects or centering issues, and high-grade examples are few and far between. The offered card is the finest example of this iconic rookie card that we have ever handled! It boasts a bright, clean image, flawless registration, four strong corners, and virtually perfect centering. The reverse is well centered and boldly printed. This example would not look out of place in a higher grade in our opinion. Between the combined Population Reports of SGC and PSA, only eleven cards (out of 604) have ever achieved this grade with a mere two examples grading higher (both PSA MINT 9). This is a stunning example in every way of one of the most important rookie cards in any of the major sports and one of hockey-card collecting's most iconic cards. Reserve $10,000.
