Graded NM/MT 8 by SGC. Exceptionally attractive and high-grade all-time classic card of Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson from the extremely popular 1952 Topps issue. In addition to being one of the key cards to this classic set, and one of the most famous of all postwar cards, Robinson's 1952 Topps card is part of the rare high-number series (although his card was double-printed and is therefore slightly more available than others from the same series). This is a stunning card! Bright, crisp, and clean, with brilliant, bold colors, flawless registration, and four sharp corners displaying tiny touches of wear at the extreme tips. Centered just a hint to the right with a very slight tilt to the image (mentioned for accuracy). Perfectly clean, both front and back. Frequently overshadowed by the #311 Mantle from the same set (which is also a high-number series card and also double-printed), #312 Robinson is one of the few cards that defines the 1952 Topps set for collectors. Robinson is also one of the few Hall of Famers found in the 1952 Topps high-number series. The market for 1952 Topps #312 Robinson in general appears be on an upward swing - especially for extremely high quality examples. Recently, high-grade examples have soared to new levels, with sales of $960,000 reported for a MINT 9 in May 2021 and $384,000 for a NM-MT 8 example in REA's April 2021 auction. This is an extremely sharp-looking high-grade example that would be very much at home in the world's finest 1952 Topps set, Jackie Robinson, or world-class classic-card collection. Reserve $10,000.
