Complete original unopened wax box of 1980-1981 Topps basketball. The box houses thirty-six packs with each pack containing eight cards for a total of 288 cards. The 1980-1981 Topps Basketball set features the rookie cards of Hall of Famers Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Maurice Cheeks, Sidney Moncrief, and many other Hall of Famers, including Julius "Dr. J" Erving, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, George Gervin, and Jack Sikma. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this box are ultra-high-grade examples of these cards and others from the set. Given the meteoric rise of high-grade rookie cards recently, including the incredible $861,000 public auction sale of a PSA GEM MINT 10 Topps Bird/Magic in August of 2021, it is hard not to consider the increased value prospects of a completely original and pristine unopened wax box of this classic issue. The entire box comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (owned by Steve Hart, the foremost expert on unopened material). The box shows moderate shelf wear.
