Graded VG 3 by SGC. Beautiful mid-grade example of Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson (portrait) from the T206 series featuring a desirable Brown Hindu advertising reverse. This is a particularly rare and noteworthy combination! Rare-back T206s are always popular but are naturally all the more special when the card happens to feature one of the keys in the set. That is certainly the case here, as Mathewson's portrait card is one of the most desirable of all vintage Hall of Famer cards, one of the most popular of all T206 designs, and one of the most highly regarded of all his cards. The offered example has bright colors, outstanding registration, and moderate corner wear (there is a small crease around the bottom left).
