The 1956 Topps set is one of the most popular sets of the 1950s. Presented is an exceptional high-grade complete set of this classic issue. All of the 342 cards (#1-340 plus two checklists) have been graded and encapsulated NM-MT 8 by PSA. All cards are bright, crisp, and clean. As any collector of high grade early 1950s cards knows, assembling a complete set of any 1950s vintage issue all in the same grade is a daunting challenge, and this is even more the case with 1956 Topps than with many other 1950s issues. The assembly of a set of this high quality and unrivaled consistency is the result of a tremendous amount of time, effort, and patience. Many 1956 Topps cards are particularly challenging to find in high grade, especially because of print lines and centering issues. This is a spectacular set and an extraordinary collecting achievement. All 342 cards are graded PSA NM-MT 8, including #1 Harridge, 5 Williams, 10 Spahn, 15 Banks, 20 Kaline, 30 Robinson, 31 Aaron, 33 Clemente, 79 Koufax, 101 Campanella, 107 Mathews, 110 Berra, 113 Rizzuto, 120 Ashburn, 130 Mays, 135 Mantle, 145 Hodges, 150 Snider, 164 Killebrew, 166 Dodgers, 181 Martin, 200 Feller, 240 Ford, 251 Yankees, 260 Reese, 292 Aparicio RC. Included with the set are both unnumbered checklist cards: #1/3 Checklist and #2/4 Checklist. This set was assembled one card at a time by a very dedicated, condition-conscious collector over a period of many years, with a concern for all factors, but with a special consideration to overall eye appeal. This is an extremely attractive high-grade complete set of this classic early Topps issue, entirely graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. The total SMR value for the individual cards is $70,575. Total: 342 cards. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot. Opening Bid $25,000.
