The 1934 Goudey #37 features Gehrig's portrait, perhaps the finest likeness of him to appear on any card. Gehrig was the spokesman of Goudey for the 1934 set, appearing on wrappers, in advertisements, and on posters for the gum company. The 1934 Goudey "Lou Gehrig says..." series features an additional Gehrig portrait on the front and words by him on the reverse. It is easy to see why many consider this to be the ultimate Lou Gehrig card. The offered example has brilliant colors, outstanding registration, and strong corners with light touches of wear.
