1939 Centennial of Baseball first day cover signed vertically by Honus Wagner. Wagner has signed the cover "Honus Wagner/Pirates" in blue ink. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the envelope and graded the signature GEM MINT10. The envelope bears a "Jun 12, 1939, Cooperstown N.Y." postmark and a three-cent Baseball Centennial stamp. The striking and elaborate design of the envelope pays homage to Wagner and includes both an actual photo of him and a short biography. This is one of the most desirable of an extremely high-quality series of 1939 Centennial of Baseball First-Day Covers designed with real photos. Wagner was one of the first five inductees into the Baseball Hall of Fame and his signature on any 1939 first-day cover, let alone on the premier cover commemorating his career, is especially prized by collectors today. The envelope (6.5 x 3.5 inches) displays a small paper flaw along the top-left corner and is otherwise in Excellent condition. Opening Bid $10.
