Graded FAIR 1.5 by SGC. Very attractive technically low-grade example of #30 Ty Cobb from the classic 1914 Cracker Jack series. The 1914 Cracker Jack Ty Cobb is universally recognized as one of card collecting's great classics, and one of Ty Cobb's most desirable and striking cards. 1914 Cracker Jacks are naturally much more difficult to find in high grade than their 1915 counterparts because the 1914 #144 series cards were issued only in boxes of Cracker Jack, while the 1915 set could be obtained as a factory set directly from the company by mail. Cobb is featured on this card in a batting pose set against a deep red background. Moderate rippling and a tiny tear (1/8-inch) on the top border account for the modest technical grade. The card possesses outstanding color, even wear on the corners, and superb centering. Honest caramel staining is present on the front and back. This is an attractive example of card #30 Ty Cobb in an extremely desirable grade. The classic Cracker Jack set is considered by many to be the most beautiful card set ever issued. The E145 Ty Cobb has always been, and will always be, in high demand. Opening Bid $10.
