Extremely attractive Ty Cobb (bat off shoulder) card from the legendary T206 White Border set with the desirable Tolstoi advertising reverse. The T206 Ty Cobb bat-off-shoulder pose is one of the key cards in the set. The fact that this example features an unusual and scarce Tolstoi advertising reverse naturally makes this classic of particularly special note, both for Ty Cobb and T206 collectors. T206Resource.com ranks Tolstoi as the eighteenth most difficult back to acquire out of thirty-nine total backs available within the T206 White Border set. The offered example displays vibrant colors, outstanding registration, and strong corners with light touches of wear (slightly weaker bottom right). A few stray areas of excess print are visible and do not detract at all from the overall excellent visual appeal. The important advertising reverse is boldly printed and clean. This is an ideal example of this classic Ty Cobb card, one of the keys to the T206 set, and one of the most popular of all prewar tobacco cards, in an ideal grade and with a scarce and desirable advertising back.
