Circa 1921 original photograph of Babe Ruth at the plate in a swing-through pose. Encapsulated and certified by PSA/DNA as an original Type I photograph. This is a superb original photograph of Ruth from 1921, his second year with the New York Yankees! The reverse of the photo has an "Original International Newsreel" credit stamp, a pair of tape stains, and a few editorial notations. It is interesting to note that this particular image on the offered photo was used in the production of several of Ruth's cards, including his 1929-1930 Rogers Peet, 1932 Sanella Margarine, and 1932 Astra cards. Photos used in the production of trading cards have become increasingly popular in recent years. The photo (8 x 10 inches), which has exceptional clarity, is missing three of the four corners and displays several unobtrusive small creases and tears.
