Ruth and Walsh have signed the photo in black ink next to their respective images. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the photo and graded the signatures EX-MT+ 6.5. The personalization "Best wishes to Joseph J. Bieber from all of us." has been scripted along the top of the photo while the notation "Opening Day 1938 Polo Grounds" has been scripted along the bottom (both written in an unknown hand). While Ruth started the 1938 season on the sideline, in June he signed on to coach with the Brooklyn Dodgers for the balance of the season. The photo (11 x 7 inches) displays an editorial stamp and staining along the reverse; technically in Very Good condition overall although with much stronger visual appeal. Opening Bid $10.
