Newly discovered 1951 Bowman #253 Mickey Mantle boldly signed by him on the front in blue ballpoint pen. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the card, grading the signature MINT 9 and the card GOOD 2 (submitted by REA). One of the all-time classics in card collecting, Mantle's rookie card is the key to the 1951 Bowman set and one of the most popular and significant of all postwar baseball cards. While the card itself is available to collectors, signed examples are scarce. This is not only an attractive signed example but just the third we have ever offered. Hall of Fame rookie cards have exploded in popularity in recent years, and signed examples are likewise commanding the attention of sophisticated autograph collectors. This striking example has vibrant colors, light corner wear (a tiny crease across the bottom right), and centering slightly toward the bottom left. Extremely clean with no distracting print lines that are commonly found with this card. Boldly printed reverse without even the slightest trace of the gum or wax staining that so frequently affects 1951 Bowmans. Downgraded due to a couple light creases. The exceptional quality of the card and the flawless quality of the signature combine to make this one of the finest autographed 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle cards in existence. This is an outstanding signed example of this iconic card and one that would be a welcome addition to any advanced card or autograph collection. Opening Bid $50,000.
